Proprietary Driver Dual-Coating Tech:

FiiO has a recent important patent on the materials used to apply the super-fine traces onto the ultra thin driver. Patented Dual-Coating system, using a combination of sapphire & aluminum applied in a dual layer coating, with the two materials combining to produce an ideal acoustic tuning. 

Aluminum improves conductivity, reducing the impedance for a load that is easier for a headphone amp to drive.

Sapphire has an extreme hardness factor, improving the high frequency clarity and complementing the response vs using aluminum alone.

Ultra Thin 1um Diaphragm

The JT9 driver is based on the amazingly thin diaphragm, an incredibly thin 1um thickness.

In more real terms, with a thickness of 1um, it would 10,000 of these diaphragms stacked to reach 1cm!

Being so thin, the driver is so light weight and precise in its motions that it can react nearly instantaneously, helping to provide better clarity, detail and lifelike attack to the music.

Process for 28nm Grade Coating

To apply the traces onto the ultra this 1um diaphragm of the JT9, FiiO uses a technique borrowed from the semiconductor industry. The voice coil is applied in a vacuum state, with heat applied to 120 Celsius, with ionized metal particles being deposited on the diaphragm, forming at the ideal thickness. This precise  approach produces an ideal application for a more reliable and durable end product.

JT9 sensitivity is spec'd at 95dB, a more sensitive design than the model down JT7, so you can get great results with a wider variety of devices. FiiO recommends using JT9 with something like the QX11 dongle DAC, BTR15 BT DAC, M21 DAP, DM13 or 15 cd players or the Gigas 1 or any desktop DAC/AMP for even better results. 

JT9 Great Fit with Flexible Design

Designed to fit a wide variety of head shapes and sizes, with plenty of travel in the headband, for both small and larger head sizes. A 35 degree horizontal rotation is built in, for lots of adjustment for fit, along with a 45 degree pitch rotation, in & out, to fit wider or narrower head shapes equally naturally. 

As shown below, the earpads have been sculpted on a 3C axis to better fit the shape of listeners face and head, for a tighter seal plus a more secure and comfortable fit. 

The metal headband also folds, making it easy to take to the office or wherever you go. Weight has been kept low for a planar headphone, at only 365g the JT9 is easy to wear for hours at a time. 

Two Ideal Matching Headphone Cables

The JT9 headphone was designed to be an ideal sonic match, accentuating its best traits. An all copper wire design was found to be the best sonic match, with both a 1.5m single ended 3.5mm cable and a 1.5m balanced 4.4mm cable included. A 3.5mm - 6.35mm adaptor is also included! The matching case holds the folded JT9 and protects with its water resistant fabric.
