THOSE IEM ARE WELL BALANCED EXCELLENT SOUNDS STEREOPHONIC.DUE TO ITS SIZE DIFFICULT TO POSITION IN YOUR EARS.
Cool player, love the size and weight, but the menus and navigation could be improved.
I tested the FiiO DM13 BT cd player without extracting songs, etc. Only in "Playback" mode with : iem's 4.4 mm balanced connector, AptX HD and Line-Out via miniToslink to Toslink - digital optical. The playback of original, quality audio cds is remarkable, even impressive. If you have quality audio cds, this DM13 knows how to give you major satisfaction, especially if for AptX HD - you have a Snowsky Nano Retro, to which you can apply the correct specific modifications - from PEQ - for your favorite music. Another pleasant surprise from the FiiO brand. Congratulations !
The experience for OPEN Box is not in the expectation since it was supposed to do the setup back to factory model. However, I receive it with previous client's Google account still sign-in. I have to setup by myself with doubting how long it was been used and if there is any potential problem with this product because it was not been inspected before shipped to me.
The Headphones are a 5/5 beautiful marriage of those two most important things in a headphone, price and performance.
The shipping however is another thing altogether, namely they got part of my address wrong while printing the label either at the sellers end or at Purolators. Either way it ended up being sent to the wrong place then brought back to the shipping warehouse in the closest city, 40 minutes away. The people on the Purolator help line were next to useless. I had to go get the things myself. For the love of all that is holy don't use Purolator, Canada post is a gift from heaven by comparison and that's saying something. I would also advise double checking you are sending it to the right town.
Wonderful sounding. IEM’s have come a long way. Comfortable to wear, my ears didn’t sweat, like with older in ear headphones. I found the bass inserts were good for me, obviously your sound appreciation will be different.
The more I listen the more I like. Currently using as a disk drive out (spid/coax) to DAC-thanks for the converter cable. Still need to audition the internal converter which appears looks promising.
Outstanding, I say. Damn outstanding. I’m sitting in my backyard in the sun listening to 96 kHz streaming from tidal on my Z1R from the 4.4 mm balanced input and the player is in my shirt pocket. Sounds glorious. Life is grand.
This little unit sounds very "musical" .I find it easier to use with the remote as the buttons on the player are kind of small . I use this unit plugged into my main Hi Fi system . Love the sound :)

Better than some other models I tried.
It is wonderful. Lots of option to learn. I wish the manual was more detailed particularly for folks like me who love music but are new at using DAPs. Ploughing through with great help from your support-agents. Overall, I am rather impressed by the sound quality and how it works with my bluetooth headphones and also the somewhat current-hungry Hifiman Edition XS (it really opened up its sonic possibilities). Reasonably adequate battery life, although even with wi-fi off, BT off it seems to use up about 5-8% charge overnight. No wonder it is called phantom-drain or something similar. Overall it is great so far!

This is a nice looking, well designed, and sturdy CD player. I have been using the balanced output to successfully drive a pair of HiFiMAN Sundara headphones. The sound is impressive and non-fatiguing with good bass extension. The controls are simple and easy to use. A keeper for me.
Not as responsive as I had hoped for searching and changing songs.
The adapter/pre arrived in good time. It works reliably and sounds great which are the two things I was missing.
Great little DAC and I am impressed by the sound and amplification using my Meze 99 Classic headphones. I have poor hearing but these gave me lots of volume and impressive sound. They paired nicely with my Apple TV and my other Apple devices with no issues. This little jewel is certainly a keeper.

The Fiio M21 is an impressive device that offers exceptional value for its price. It features all the essential components of a high-end digital audio player, with additional capabilities. The M21 boasts impressive power, excellent battery life and exceptional sound quality. While the Fiio X5 3rd generation was a disappointment and as a result, it was the last time I considered fiio. However, the M21 represents a significant improvement and demonstrates the company’s progress over the years. I’m a fiio guy again like I was back when I had the x5 gen 2.
