Custom Planar Magnetic Driver Design

FiiO FT5 differs from traditional planar magnetic headphones. Thanks to 20 neodymium magnets with up to 1.5T of magnetic drive, a 6μm thin diaphragm and nano-level aluminum-silver alloy coating technology, the FT5's driver is both super lightweight and strong, enabling a high sensitivity of 96dB/mW@1kHz.

This allows the FT5 to be easily driven by portable players, so you can experience the full sound with a wide variety of gear, like dongle dacs, home amps DAPs. This high performance driver uses a full size 90mm diaphragm, for outstanding dynamics and lifelike drive.

2 Types Ear Pads Included

FiiO FT5 includes 2 types of ear pads for comfort and audio tuning options (velour - balanced sound, enhanced ambience / leatherette - powerful clear sound, wide soundstage, very detailed).

The FT5 features the excellent 3-axis swivel design used on other FT Series headphones. This allows the ear cups to rotate freely for superb comfort regardless of the angle or size of your head, also providing a better audio quality and seal.

The design of a planar magnetic driver involves the number of magnets to be used and their stacking, with more magnets meaning more weight. Therefore, the materials that make up the outer shell of a planar magnetic headphone greatly impact the weight.

The frame and housing of the FT5 is made from a magnesium alloy. Since a magnesium alloy has only 64% of the density of an aluminum alloy, the FT5 can be built much lighter, allowing for long and comfortable listening.

Silver Plated Copper Balanced Cable

FiiO FT5 includes a 1.5 m cable consisting of 392 wires of silver-plated monocrystalline copper, having a diameter of 23 AWG. The cable terminates in swappable 3.5mm or 4.4mm Balanced plugs.

FiiO includes a 6.5mm adaptor for the 3.5mm plug and a XLR Balanced adaptor for the 4.4mm plug - so every popular cable scenario is included in the package in a compact, perfectly executed cable system - 3.5mm, 6.35mm, 4.4mm & XLR.
