The large driver size allows it to move more air with greater force, helping it to produce wider dynamic changes in the music with a spacious soundstage, while delivering a strong sub-bass and bass for an open back headphone.

The diaphragm is crafted from a unique composite that combines the rigidity of PEK with the flexibility of PU materials. This fusion of soft and hard materials ensures both a lightweight design and excellent sound performance. A built-in brass damping ring minimizes distortion - which helps clearly reproduce busy, layered music and better separate instruments from each other as well as from the vocals.

The ultra-fine CCAW voice coil not only makes the diaphragm lighter but also boosts efficiency and sensitivity. FIiO wanted the JT3 to be reasonably sensitive, so that you can get great results from it when using compact or portable sources, like computers, dongle dacs and entry level interfaces.

Open back headphones can sometimes be less efficient, but the headphone was designed to work great with the sources people already own, saving you from the need to spend more.

Angled driver for Wider Soundstage

FiiO JT3 is equipped with high-performance magnets which are the driving force behind the driver, dramatically improving its responsiveness and overall performance.

The outer shell is crafted from a lightweight, smooth-textured aluminum-magnesium alloy, featuring a perforated grille design that is both stylish and lightweight. This helps the headphone in delivering a wide and immersive soundstage.

Pro Tip - The sense of soundstage helps the music or movie soundtrack to feel more realistic, more similar to the 'being there' feeling we are usually hoping to experience.

The drivers are angled so that they project music from slightly in front of the ear, instead of directly at 90 degrees to the ear. This is often found in high end and flagship models, since this design technique helps to improve that spacious feel to the music and less of a L/R headphone feel.

Combined with the open back design, these elements help provide the wider, open feel people are looking for.
