FiiO Flagship headphones employs FiiO’s self-developed planar driver technology - a patented multi-layer coating system. The planar driver uses high-performance PET as the diaphragm substrate and selectively applies 24K gold and pure silver to create a multi-layer coated driver – leveraging the advantages of both of those precious metals. This allows the FT7 to have a highly detailed, yet charmingly rich sound.

The driver is made using a 28 nm-grade process. This technique is inspired by coating technology used within the semiconductor industry, securing the metal traces on an ultra-thin 1 μm film through charge attraction principles. This process creates the desired coating thickness for optimal acoustics and significantly enhances the durability and lifespan of the traces.

Pro Tip - In our experience, with a sensitivity of 94dB, in order to hear the FT7 at its fullest potential, look for a desktop amp that can provide a fair amount of current to really make these shine. Typically solid state with big power supplies. We suggest the K13 / K15 / K17 models dac/amp and the awesome M27 DAP, of course, as great choices to pair with the FT7. (Roughly, 98-105dB is very efficient while anything under 90 dB is very hard to drive.)

Lighter Weight for Better Comfort

No cost was spared in reducing the weight of the headphones as much as possible. Thus, many parts of the FT7 are made of lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber so that the headphone is comfortable to wear even for longer listening sessions. It may have a large 106mm planar driver and dual sided magnets, but it only weighs 427g, which is exceptionally light weight among high-end planar headphones.

Versatility of Two Pairs of Ear Pads

Two earpads are included, each with its own effect on the audio reproduction. Perforated lambskin - provides a highly detailed, clear sound with a wide soundstage. 

Suede earpads are highly breathable and are ideal for people who listen for longer sessions (from several hours at a time to all day use), enhancing the atmosphere of music and making vocals more or a focal point.

State of the Art Headphone Cable

The included 3m cable has carbon fiber trim and a woven nylon wrap, made with 99.99998% pure copper, cryogenically treated at -192c for 7 days. The cable is designed to match the sonic qualities of the drivers, enhancing the tonal richness for a more relaxed, enjoyable sound, without giving up any fine detail.

The cable is Balanced, terminates in a 4.4mm plug, with adaptor included for 6.5mm & XLR jacks.
